CEAP Recertification
CEAP® certification must be renewed every three years from the date of initial C
EAP® certification. Recertification may be completed up to 6 months prior to the CEAP® Status expiration date listed in the CEAP's User Account profile.
Recertification by PDHs (Professional Development Hours)
A CEAP can recertify by completing the required Professional Development Hours (PDHs) prior to current CEAP® expiration date.
Recertifying online is quick and easy!
To recertify by PDHs:
- Complete sixty (60) hours EAPA professional development/training (PDHs) within the dates of the current three-year certification period (CEUs from other organizations must be reviewed by the EACC)
- Attend Evaluating Ethical Awareness
- Attest the recertification requirements have been met
- Pay the recertification fee within 60 days following the certification expiration date.
- Be fully prepared to submit documentation if audited by the EACC; and retain all documents for a minimum of 90 days post-renewal.

Recertification by CEAP Certification Course (Modules)
A CEAP may elect to recertify by completing the CEAP® Certification Course
(CEAP® or CEAP® Global) in the EAPA Institute Online learning platform. All learning modules within the respective CEAP®
certificate course must be successfully completed before the CEAP® expiration date in order to be used for
CEAP® Recertification.

AUDIT PROCESS
Each year a percentage of those recertifying are randomly selected for audit. If audited, the individual will be notified by postal mail and may not recertify online. Audited CEAPs must submit copies of appropriate documentation of all PDHs earned within the recertification cycle.
