Jon Murphy, MS, LCAS-A, CEAP

Jon Murphy joined the United States House of Representatives Office of Employee Assistance in 2019, following nine years with the Raleigh Employee Assistance Program, in Raleigh, NC, and six years with the Wake Forest Baptist Health/Wake Forest University Employee Assistance Program in Winston-Salem, NC.  Prior to his employee assistance service, Jon was the Director of a non-profit substance abuse program, a federal law enforcement officer, and an officer in the United States Army, including an assignment with "The Old Guard, the Army's official ceremonial unit and escort to the President of the United States. Over the course of his EAP career, Jon has also played a significant role in mentoring new professionals toward certification in the employee assistance field.

Jon is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCAS-A) a Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP), and a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP).   He earned his master’s degree in Clinical Pastoral Education specializing in addictions and family therapy from Shaw University, Raleigh, NC.  Jon served as the New Members Committee chairperson for the North Carolina Employee Assistance Professionals Association (NCEAPA) from January 2013 until June 2019.  In addition, he formerly served on the Employee Assistance Professionals Association (EAPA) Hennessy Scholarship Fund committee.
