Steps to Initial CEAP Certification
To earn your initial CEAP® Credential, CEAP® candidates must complete the following three steps:
Pick your Pathway below, then Submit your documents and on the second page Pay the registration fee of $125 member/$150 non-member and apply as a CEAP® candidate by selecting your respective pathway below. You must pay the registration fee for your documents to be reviewed.
Documentation that may be required:
Copy of your diploma or transcript for your Degree program
Letter on company letterhead from your supervisor, manager or HR department to verify completion of the work experience requirement of 1000 hours or six months full time
If needed, Copies of PDH certificates (Courses MUST be pre-approved for PDHs by the EACC and certificates must contain EACC Approval Code
Once these documents are reviewed and approved, you will be sent a link to purchase the modules for $520 member/$720 non-member within 10 business days. You must pay the registration fee for your documents to be reviewed. Each learning module has its respective end-of-module assessment which contains thirty (30) randomized multiple-choice questions to check your knowledge of the respective domains.

CEAP Process
Once you paid your registration fee and purchased and passed each of the five modules, you will be designated as a CEAP® in Good Standing for a period of 3 years. Your start date will begin on the first day of the following month that you completed your modules. Your CEAP® Certificate will be available electronically. If you would like a printed and mailed copy, there will be a charge of $25 dollars and it will be mailed to you within 3-4 weeks. Unless you have opted out, you will automatically be listed in the CEAP® Directory.

Pathways to Initial CEAP Certification
To earn the CEAP® Credential, CEAP® candidates must meet criteria under one of the following four CEAP® Pathways below. It is important to know which pathway applies to you and review any pre or post requisites that may be required. To begin your application as a CEAP® candidate, click on the respective pathway.
Candidate has a Master’s Degree in an approved clinical discipline and has completed a minimum of 1,000 hours of EAP work experience (paid or unpaid) within 10 years preceding the date of CEAP® certificate course application.
Pre-requisite: NONE
Post-requisite: NONE
(Note: Proof of Degree and Work Experience must be submitted before purchasing access to the CEAP® Certification Course Learning Modules)

Candidate has less than a Master’s Degree in an approved clinical discipline and has completed a minimum of 1,000 hours of EAP work experience (paid or unpaid) within 10 years preceding the date of CEAP certificate course application.
Pre-requisite: 20 PDH’s on mental health, substance use, etc and within 3 years preceding the date of CEAP certification course application.
Post-requisite: NONE

Candidate does not have a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree and has not completed a minimum of 1,000 hours of EAP work experience (paid or unpaid) within 10 years preceding the date of CEAP certificate course application.
Pre-requisite: 40 PDH’s with 20 hours on EA Service delivery and 20 hours on mental health and substance use assessment and referral within 3 years preceding the date of CEAP certification course application.
Post-requisite: Designated a CEAP® Intern until completion of 500 hours of EAP work experience (paid or unpaid) or a combination of EAP work hours and up to 24 hours of group mentorship (see CEAP® mentorship guidelines and schedule) with qualified CEAPs (listed in the Find a CEAP directory as being in good standing) within 2 years of completing the course. Additionally, 20 PDH’s (no domain requirement) per year to be completed.
