What is Presented?

Become a Menopause Champion

(And Help Others Become Champions, Too)!

A menopause champion provides support to people going through menopause, approaching menopause, or concerned about someone going through menopause.

Anyone can become a menopause champion!  Champions support employees and managers to have productive conversations, support workplace needs, and help to create an inclusive environment.

About the Presenter: Mora Aarons-Mele

Morra Aarons-Mele is an expert at helping teams, leaders, and organizations to talk about hard things and drive psychological safety, positive mental health, engagement, and excellence. She has trained and coached thousands of managers, employees and leaders worldwide.

Morra knows that taking your mental health seriously is a leadership strength. Her ongoing work has been recognized by Mental Health America with their Media Award (2023). Morra is a LinkedIn "Top 10 Voice" in mental health and was shortlisted for the Thinkers50 2023 Distinguished Achievement in Leadership Award.

Morra’s consulting clients include Fortune 500 companies, startups, and U.S. government agencies. In her decades-long career as a political, public health, and issue advocacy strategist she has helped the world’s largest organizations change minds and behaviors. A pioneer in advocating for workplace flexibility, Morra has helped organizations design workdays that meet the needs of our diverse workforce.

Alongside speaking and consulting, Morra hosts a Top 10 Management podcast, “The Anxious Achiever ,” for LinkedIn Presents. Guests range from CEOs to leading psychologists and leadership colleagues. This popular podcast is a Webby Awards Honoree and a “Best Commute” Signal Award winner.

Shannon Rauh is a Practice Transformation Lead with Upstream USA. Shannon is passionate about women’s health. Shannon became part of the menopause revolution by becoming certified (https://www.girlsgonestrong.com/academy/) as a coach to people facing perimenopause and menopause to ensure they have the resources they need for better health and a deeper empowerment over their bodies.

She has 25 years of experience working internationally, nationally, and locally on public health initiatives. Her work has largely focused on providing training and technical assistance to community-based organizations, health care settings, universities, and health departments in the areas of sexual and reproductive health.

Before joining Upstream, Shannon was a consultant for the Reproductive Health National Training Center, and worked directly with Title X grantees and sub-recipients on ensuring reproductive healthcare needs were met in Title X funded sites by assessing and improving their clinical operations and performance.

For the past 5 years, Shannon was a coach for the Midwest Adolescent Health Project through the University of Michigan Adolescent Health initiative (AHI) by building the capacity of youth-serving primary care services in rural and underserved communities to provide youth-friendly health care services for adolescents through engagement in the Adolescent-Centered Environment Assessment Process (ACE-AP). And for the last 6 years,  Shannon serves as the Board Chair for Healthy Teen Network.

Shannon has a Master’s in Education and is a Certified Sexuality Educator.

  3. How to become a menopause champion (20 minutes)
